 Health Benefits

Recent medical research is confirming the ancient & common Chinese beliefs regarding the health benefits of Puerh tea.

The consumption of Puerh tea has been proven to:

  • Boost metabolism
  • Aid in the digestion of oily and high-fat content foods
  • Assist in weight loss
  • Increase blood circulation
  • Aid in the prevention of heart disease and cancer due to its antioxidants
  • Aid in the removal of toxins to cure dysentery, inflammation, and support the digestive system
  • Improve eyesight
  • Revive those overly intoxicated with alcohol (a.k.a. cure a hangover)
  • Reduce high blood pressure & cholesterol
  • Clean intestines and stomach
  • Improve skin complexion
  • Improve oral health & breath
  • Help strengthen immune system with naturally occuring Vitamin C in tea leaves

Its ability to break down oily and fatty foods make it a perfect drink to have during or after meals.

Recent research has discovered the health value of polyphenols in tea. Polyphenols serve as cellular anti oxidants and have been known to reduce cholesterol. These compounds are most present in fresh, non-fermented teas.

As explained on our website, there are two categories of Puerh (Pu-erh, Pu'er) tea.  Puerh tea leaves can be served in either fresh or aged form.

Since Puerh tea can be served either fresh, “sheng” (raw/green Puerh tea) or fermented, “shu” (fermented/cooked/black Puerh tea) it can fall into either the “green” or “black” tea category.
